Allegany County Government is looking for driven, creative students passionate about making a difference in their communities. The Allegany County Commissioners’ Fellowship Program is a 12-week summer internship program with Allegany County Government. The program, which is a partnership with Frostburg State University and Allegany College of Maryland, provides real-life work experience for rising juniors and seniors attending these institutions of higher learning.
Selected students will work under the direction of the County Administrator and other county staff to develop an understanding of local government. County government employees will work with the students on projects and policy proposals that will ultimately be presented to the County Commissioners at the end of the student’s internship.
Selected students will be paid a stipend of $2,000 for their participation in the program.
