Allegany County Government operates a supervised yard trimmings and mulch site for Allegany County residents and businesses at 11700 PPG Road in the North Branch Industrial Park, off of MD Route 51 South. The spring and summer schedule will start on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. The site will be open five days per week: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 10 am - 6 pm.
Accepted items, listed below, may be dropped off free of charge and mulch may be picked up free of charge.
Accepted Items: Grass, leaves, brush, tree and tree limbs six inches or less in diameter, Christmas trees, and other fresh holiday greenery free of artificial decorations of any type.
Items Not Accepted: Stumps, roots, trees and tree limbs more than six inches in diameter, rubble, demolition material, lumber, pallets, railroad ties, and all other items not listed above as accepted items.
Allegany County Government appreciates the efforts of all recyclers and encourages everyone to reduce, reuse, recycle, and compost.
