GAP Trail Users: Due to the ice storm that came through Allegany County, 100s of trees are downed from Woodcock Hollow to the Mason Dixon Line, along the Great Allegheny Passage trail. The cold temps have kept ice on the trees and more continue to fall. The ice will need to melt before crews can be dispatched for cleanup. Removal will likely not take place until after the new year. For your safety from falling branches and trees, the county recommends that you refrain from using the trail until cleanup has occurred.
