[ARCHIVED] East End Frostburg Pedestrian Connection Study- Public Input Session

Tues June 23 2020 Public Comments Frostburg Ped Study

NOTICE OF HEARING FOR PUBLIC COMMENT

for

EAST END FROSTBURG PEDESTRIAN CONNECTION STUDY

As part of their ongoing commitment to the health, safety and welfare of the local community, the Cumberland Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) has engaged Bennett, Brewer & Associates to evaluate a pedestrian / bike connection from the eastern end of the City of Frostburg (near Mountain Ridge High School) south along Route 36 toward Interstate 68 and to a lesser extent east along Route 40 to the Village of Eckhart.  The assessment will provide recommendations for a safe and efficient integration of vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic along this critical interface between the end of the current structured pedestrian access facilities and the various destination points within the business corridor beyond and to Hoffman Park.  The goal of this analysis is to study the project area utilizing industry standard traffic engineering practices and to incorporate those results, along with stakeholder needs and input, into a concept design which can be utilized for future detailed planning, funding, and implementation.

A hearing for the purpose of receiving public comment on the study is hereby scheduled to commence at 7:00 p.m. on June 23, 2020.  The hearing will be held via virtual meeting.  All persons wishing to provide input or learn about the study may attend a virtual meeting via this link: https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/891928461

All residents, business owners, students, property owners, governmental agencies and other interested parties are encouraged to attend.
