Baltimore Street Construction Impact Grant

  1. About the grant program:
  2. The Allegany County Commissioners & City of Cumberland are committing $100,000 total fund assistance to businesses affected in the Baltimore Street Construction zone. Grant recipients must have business frontage on the highlighted construction area, employ less than 15 full-time employees, been in business (and in their current location) since before October 1, 2022, and be in good standing with the State of Maryland, Allegany County and the City of Cumberland. Businesses NOT eligible are as follows: home-based businesses, churches, non-profit organizations, banks & financial institutions, insurance offices, investment real-estate entities, food trucks, national-chain owned businesses, and government agencies.
  3. 1) Grant Funds cannot be used for Capital Improvements or Acquisitions.
  4. 2) The business receiving funds will be required to sign an agreement expressing intent to remain in operation for thirty-six months after receipt of the funds. A claw-back of the funds could be prorated and requested if closure of the business occurs prior to thirty-six months.

The applicant is and will remain, in compliance with the laws of the Federal Government and the State of Maryland and its political subdivisions, including all laws prohibiting discrimination. If any information or certification in the application or any attachments to the application are false or materially misleading, the Grantee shall repay any awarded grant funds back to Allegany County, Maryland, in the full amount. ​​
