Trash & Landfill - Residential Program

YOU NEED TO KNOW

One Trash Sticker is required for one garbage bag, 40 gallons maximum. One Trash Sticker is required for one garbage can, 40 pounds maximum. A maximum of 10 garbage bags/garbage cans per day per resident is permitted. A maximum of 2 bulk items per day per resident is permitted for items requiring 6 or more trash stickers due to space limitations at the refuse disposal sites.

Tires: Although tires cannot be deposited into the dumpsters at the Refuse Sites or Landfill, the site attendant accepts tires at the MV Smith and Oldtown Refuse Sites during regular hours of operation. A maximum of four tires per day per resident is permitted, with a price of $3 per tire. Tires are also recycled by appointment in Cumberland. To make arrangements please call the County Recycling Office. Businesses and commercial entities cannot use the refuse site drop boxes.

Where to Buy Trash Stickers

Call to confirm Trash Sticker availability and hours of operation. Many have a minimum purchase requirement of five Trash Stickers. 

*Please note - trash stickers CANNOT be purchased at Mountainview Landfill. The landfill is a 3rd party business who accepts stickers, but they are not responsible for distributing them.
